Unleash your temptation

Eek! This is the first time I’ve forgotten to promo a new release. Sorry!

Yesterday’s release is…

‘Temptation Unleashed by Kari Thomas

Here’s the blurb:

Something wild this way comes…

Once a powerful, practicing Wiccan, Kira Douglas has reluctantly moved to wild and beautiful Sedona, Arizona for only one reason—assume custody of her dead sister’s daughter. She immediately runs into an obstacle. The child’s uncle, the disturbingly sexy Aiden Calhoun, refuses to give her up.

Aiden has good reason for not allowing Kira custody of his precious niece. The child is half witch, half shapeshifter. Allowing her to take the girl could expose the family’s shapeshifting secret he has spent a lifetime protecting.

Their instant attraction isn’t just an inconvenient temptation. It could put his entire family in danger.

But an evil force is re-emerging, bent on destroying everything they know and love. The only way to survive is to put all differences aside.

And overcome the nightmare that once broke Kira’s faith.

This title has been revised and expanded from its previously published version.

Warning: This book contains explicit, howling-under-the-desert-moon love scenes and some wash-your-mouth-out-with-soap language.

Taking a deep breath

Phew.

It’s been one of those months… and somewhere, I lost a week. Seriously, I looked at my calendar and thought I had three weeks to the end of April, and somehow, there was only two. But my taxes are done, the government’s paid (tho, thanks to this little glitch, they haven’t received my paperwork yet.) But it’s on it’s way, school doesn’t start ’til Monday, and I’m one edit away from being caught up. Yay. (and there’s rumours of a computer-free weekend, but I don’t want to jinx it…)

But, in the midst of all that mysterious calendar reworking (And, if I could figure out how to make an extra week appear in the calendar, I’d do that more often. :) ), I almost missed my big news today!
Today is the start of Brenda Novak’s month-long online auction to benefit diabetes research. She’s organized some really super-cool items up for bid, including… a website design by Elle Media. Yep, you get to help a great cause, and I get to design your website. Isn’t it just what you always wanted? :)

So, go bid your fingers off. Go. I’ll wait. :)

Today’s release

I’m not even gonna apologize. I know. :)

Today’s release is:

Take a Stranger No More by Beth Kery

Here’s the blurb:

Once a servant…now the master.

The Adventures of the St. Claire Servants Book 1

Kit Chevalier has a serious problem. She’s loved Max St. Clair, her sinfully handsome guardian, since she was a child of six and he a young man of nineteen. But now he stubbornly refuses to notice that she’s grown into a woman. Armed with a few shocking secrets from Max’s servant, Kit sets out to persuade him she is no longer a child.

Long ago, Max was a servant himself, indentured like all St. Clair princelings to a noble family in order to teach them humility…and how to best pleasure their masters in bed. Once indentured to Kit’s parents, he is now pledged to protect Kit-and her virtue-until he can honorably hand her off to a suitable husband.

And hand her off he will. Quickly, before he loses his weakening resolve to keep his own hands off her. The last thing he wants to do is expose the fragile beauty to the carnal appetites of his ancient line.

But Max underestimates Kit’s resolve-and the passionate fire that burns within her-which is every bit a match for his own.

I’m going naked today…

I’m jumping on the bandwagon and stripping down. I can’t access the css in this site, but my web design company: Elle Media is naked today.

So why I am I doing this?

Here’s why:

Can I tempt you with an Adam?

I know, bad, bad blogging-geek. Sorry. :)

But I did want to pop in to highlight today’s release:

Tempting Adam by Shelli Stevens

The man she wants is the one she must deceive.

Seattle Steam Book 2

Christy Wallace may be a respectable Seattle Spanish teacher, but she’s got a sultry side. She lets it come out to play during the summer, when she moonlights as a Salsa dancing instructor.

Sexy, cowboy Adam wants more time with her than just a fleeting cup of coffee, but she makes it clear that if he wants her, he’ll have to sign up for dance class. Amazingly enough, he does. And Christy finds herself falling for a charming country hick with hands as fast as his feet.

Adam’s no hick, though. He’s the owner of Adam’s Apples, the fastest-growing cider business in eastern Washington. To his own surprise, one night with her has him thinking in terms of forever. That is, until he walks into a restaurant for a family lunch—and finds Christy on the arm of his brother.

Is there a logical explanation? Or is something rotten in Seattle?

You can buy it here.

Two releases today!

I have two releases today… The first:

Night of the Cereus by Anya Delvay

Night of the Cereus

On the night the Cereus blooms, temptation paints a picture impossible to resist.

Artist’s model Melanie Fletcher likes to keep life simple, and painter Marcus Alejandro practically oozes complications. And sex appeal.

Posing for him, surrounded by the seductive scent of the night-blooming Cereus, Melanie’s self-imposed rules of a lifetime are slowly being undermined. She begins to wonder—would it really hurt to give in to her lust, just this once?

Initially drawn to the dichotomy between Melanie’s reserved exterior and hidden passion, Marcus soon discovers the more he gets from her, the more he wants. Her delicious body isn’t enough. He needs to know her intimately, both inside and out, but getting her to trust him is harder than he ever imagined.

How much can he ask for before she walks away?

You can buy Night of the Cereus here.

Next is:

Dance of Seduction by Elle Kennedy

Dance of Seduction

Tracking her was easy. Staying out of her bed—that’s the hard part.

On the run from her past and her overprotective brother, Ellie has had a taste of freedom—and likes it. Nothing can make her go home. Not even when the man she’s always longed for shows up to drag her there. His wicked grins and irresistible dimples won’t work.

But she knows something else about Luke: He doesn’t give up easily. Luckily, Ellie’s not above resorting to naughty tactics. Seduction, she’s certain, will make him so uncomfortable he won’t be able to flee fast enough.

And boy, is it going to be fun.

The last thing Luke expects is for his best friend’s sister to launch an erotic assault. He’ll go along with her sexy games, but he’s sure that when things get too hot, she’ll come to her senses and come home. Except resisting her isn’t as easy as he thought it’d be.

And suddenly he’s wondering if maybe there can be more than one winner in this dance of seduction…

You can buy Dance of Seduction here.

Calling epublished authors…

Angie, Executive Editor of Samhain Publishing, needs your help:

I’m looking for information. Can you help?

Part of the information I want to talk about in my 2008 workshops, which are going to cover myths of epublishing as well as basic information about epublishing/small press publishing in general, is money in epublishing. I know Emily Veinglory has attempted to collect some specific numbers, but I’m interested in only very generic numbers.

If you’re willing to share with me–and only me–your 2007 epublishing earnings, I would like to use those numbers for my workshop, no names will be attached.

Total earned (through epublishers, but it can be for print and ebook earnings through those epublishers):
# books total for sale (not just new books, but backlist books):
# publishers (the books above were published through0:
Were you a new author in 2007?

Some authors have gotten particularly motivated and broken it down further to # of novels, novellas and short stories but that’s not necessary unless you really want to send me that info. I will use it if you send it.

My goal is to (hopefully) demonstrate that a living can be made in ebooks (one author has already responded who makes 1 1/2x what my husband makes at his day job), but that the income/royalties made can vary widely per author as well, and that backlist does help. However, some authors have said they’re hesitant to share because they don’t want low numbers to “ruin” my goal. I’m looking for factual information, whether the numbers are low or high, so please share regardless.

If you’re interested in sharing with me–and again, I will share names with no one else–please email me at Angie at samhainpublishing . com

I’m already privy to Samhain’s numbers, I just really don’t want this to be about Samhain, but about epublishing in general, because my workshops are about epublishing, promoting positive information about epublishing. And I promise, this is not about finding out other publisher’s sales numbers, which is why I don’t ask who you write for, or what books you have with each. I am asking general numbers only. I understand many of you are not comfortable sharing this information, so no worries! I’m hoping if I ask around, I’ll come up with a few respondents )

If you think you know of others who might be interested in sharing their numbers with me, please pass this on. Full permission is granted and I’ve already posted on the Samhain author loop as well as Romance Divas. For those who want to know the results, I will share them at workshops in April at Desert Dreams, and RWA Nationals as well as a few other workshops in 2008. I will also share them in an online workshop on Romance Divas in September, and after that on my blog.

So if you have information you’d be willing to share, please drop Angie a line.

Thanks!

My Hot Dog has a first name…

It’s O-S-C-A-R.

(heh, do I have that song in your head now? :) )

Yes, I’m weak. I let T talk me into it.

I’d like you to meet…

Oscar Meyer Weiner Dog

Oscar the Rauch

It’s funny… T and I named our future dog, whoever he was going to be, ages and ages ago. We didn’t know he was going to be a weiner dog (He’s a dachshund). T wanted a Jack Russell (I vetoed that one. Way too much energy for me), but when we met Oscar, we fell in love with him. And now we have an Oscar Meyer Weiner Dog.

(No, for those who are wondering, I also vetoed the pet store. We adopted Oscar from a nice family).

He’s been with us a week and a half and already things are a little upside down in the house. But I won’t bore you with all the stories of turf training (or, Oscar! don’t pee in your bed!), or the Hey! I don’t want to go in this dark crate by myself, I want to sleep on top of T.

Because it’s all worth it when you have this tiny little dog with these giant Dumbo ears running at you for a pounce break or a lick-fest.

And who knows, we might even get him over his fear of outside so he actually will help me get my butt away from the computer. *grin*

Empathic investigator Tom K’Restan follows a strange broadcast to see if this is the source of the negative empathic energy he is investigating. He finds Janeth, and an explosive attraction to her he cannot understand—and cannot resist.

Running out of time and options, Janeth secretly mates with Tom and uses their intense sexual energy as a beacon to call to her missing brother. Love will have to come later, if she can overcome Tom’s dismay and convince him they are destined to be forever lovers.
